The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was officially adopted on 14th April 2016 and became enforceable across the European Union on 25 May 2018. The GDPR act now gives individuals more control over how their personal data is used and companies are obliged to use their client’s data in a responsible and transparent manner.

The GDPR act has been adopted by the United Kingdom and all the countries in the EU. It will not have escaped your attention that we are dealing with countries that are either outside the EEA or not yet members of the EU so how would your personal Data be protected outside the U.K and EU? We have been in consultation with the ICO and based on their advice and our findings, there are several countries (but not yet all) that have made significant advances in their implementation of GDPR and whose ways of protecting people's data align with the EU, even though they are outside the EU, in order to protect the data of their citizens, and those who do business with them.

Naturally we are required to complete certain forms to comply with legislation. Should any exporter wish to see an information sheet on a specific country regarding the current GDPR status, we will be happy to supply them with one.
